MOVIE IN THE SQUARE

This event will run on July 31, 2010 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Come along from 5:30pm and enjoy pre-show entertainment from the Brisbane City Temple Salvation Army band conducted by Stuart Lang. The band will be helped out by Smartie Pants the clown before the screening of family movie ‘Ponyo’ at 6:30pm. Enjoy a BBQ dinner and popcorn during the film!

Academy-Award winning Director Hayao Miyazaki helms Ponyo, a charming animation that illustrates an exciting tale of friendship and adventure for the young (and young at heart). Features outstanding voice talent from Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, Liam Neeson, Tina Fey and more!

FAMILY FILM FIESTA

As part of Cine Sparks – The Australian Film Festival for Young People, Brisbane Brass Junior Marching Band led by the Giant Puppets, will march from Queen Street Mall to King George Square and will play movie themes as part of the Family Film Fiesta. The day will include a fiesta of family films including Wizard of Oz, The General, A Night at the Opera and film related activities for children.
