Historic Newstead House on the banks of the Brisbane River is welcomed back as a venue in the park programme. Join in the celebrations of the Community Garden Party in and around Newstead Park and Newstead House. This is the 150th anniversary of the news brought by the steamship Clarence that a new colony called Queensland had been formed. In the tradition of brass bands, this will be a concert of stirring marches, nostalgic melodies and easy listening favourites.
